The only problem with this book is you may start tearing you hair out when people refer to the "Wars of Religion." My frustration with the Whig tendency to create its own mythologies, refuse to question them, and then sneer at "religion" as if it's some monolithic thing probabl| ||"Cavanaugh not only sets the bar of future scholarship higher but also avoids oversimplifications that can obstruct conflict resolution. Future scholarship on religious violence will inevitably need to interact with the theories laid out in this book."--B
